About Mavis
During my many years as a real estate professional, I created countless flyers, postcards, advertising and informational brochures. I was one of those agents who wanted to do this sort of thing myself, since I really enjoyed it.
About ten years ago, I hired a web designer to create my first personal real estate web site. From him, I learned how to make changes on the site as my listings changed. I learned a lot about HTML and CSS over the years.
Having decided to leave my real estate career, I took a series of web design classes at Seattle Central Community College. There I learned the latest in design techniques, from some passionate, knowledgeable and dedicated instructors. One of the main concepts they taught was the adherence to the W3 web standards for all web designs, in order to create sites that work well now and in the future, and are also simple to maintain.
Almost a Seattle native, I grew up here, graduated from the University of Washington, spent several years in California and Hawaii, and returned to Seattle in the late-1980s.
